CILA has added Texas-wide Social Services working group and associated listserv. We hope the new working group and listserv will serve as a space to collectively address the gap in social services and resources for immigrant youth, provide a space for social workers and staff to share ideas and challenges. Virtual meetings via Zoom will be held on a quarterly basis. The working group will provide a space for collaboration and for those who attend to make inquiries and share information. CILA anticipates that the first meeting will be early this Fall.

The related listserv is intended as a tool to announce working group meetings as well as to allow for frequent communication among social workers or staff at the legal service providers working with immigrant youth across the state.

Social workers and social services providers, as well as attorneys, legal staff, and pro bono attorneys are welcome to attend working group meetings and utilize the listserv. Please sign up below:

I urge each of you in this audience to join the “New Due Process Army” and stand up for “truth, justice, and the American way” in our failing, misused, and politically abused United States Immigration Courts and to continue the fight, for years or decades if necessary, until this system finally is forced to deliver on its noble but unfulfilled promise of “being the world’s best tribunals, guaranteeing fairness and due process for all.” Harm to one is harm to all! Due process forever!
