Webinar Description:

Please join us in celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the ABA Children’s Immigration Law Academy (CILA)! We began our work a decade ago to provide expert legal resources and trainings to advocates working with unaccompanied youth. As we reflect on 10 years of service, CILA is hosting a roundtable discussion with experts in working with unaccompanied youth to discuss how far we’ve come in the last ten years, recent setbacks, and what we can work towards for the future of the unaccompanied children’s program. CILA’s Director and co-founder Dalia Castillo-Granados will be joined by speakers from the Acacia Center for Justice, KIND, National Center for Youth Law, and the Young Center.

We will discuss the progress of unaccompanied children’s rights, current challenges, and future strategies for working with unaccompanied children. We want this to be a discussion for advocates. This webinar is geared towards anyone at a legal service provider who works with unaccompanied children, including attorneys, social workers, and legal staff. All are welcome!

Speakers will include:

  • Shaina Aber, Executive Director, Acacia Center for Justice
  • Jason Boyd, Vice President, U.S. Federal Policy, Kids in Need of Defense (KIND)
  • Dalia Castillo-Granados, Director, ABA Children’s Immigration Law Academy (CILA)
  • Neha Desai, Managing Director of Children’s Human Rights & Dignity, National Center for Youth Law
  • Jennifer Nagda, Chief Program Officer, Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights
