The ABA Children’s Immigration Law Academy (CILA) invites you to join us as experts from the National Immigration Litigation Alliance (NILA) provide an introduction to practicing in federal court on immigration matters.

Designed for attorneys who are new to federal court litigation, this webinar will cover the nuts and bolts of district court litigation. The webinar will cover practical issues to help you prepare to litigate in federal court, including admission, filing registration, applicable rules, and associated ethical obligations. In addition, it will address types of cases that can be filed, whom to sue and how to serve, the fundamental elements of a district court complaint, and what to expect after the complaint is filed.

Speakers will include:

  • Trina Realmuto, Executive Director, NILA
  • Kristin Macleod-Ball, Senior Staff Attorney, NILA

The ABA will seek 1.5 hours of CLE credit in 60-minute states, and 1.8 hours of CLE credit for this program in 50-minute states. Credit hours are estimated and are subject to each state’s approval and credit rounding rules. Please visit www.americanbar.org/mcle for general information on CLE at the ABA.
