Support CILA during ABA Giving Day 2024

The Children’s Immigration Law Academy (CILA) is a project of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Commission on Immigration. CILA was founded in 2015, and we have spent the last nine years growing and evolving our expert legal resource center focused on children’s immigration law. If you are reading this, you have been a part of our journey!

Day in and day out, our 14 dedicated staff members work to ensure that advocates nationwide who guide children and youth through complex legal procedures can do so with courage, competency, compassion, and creativity. We love what we do and are happy to impact the work of so many through our free core services: trainings, technical assistance, written resources, and working groups.

This month, we are asking you to support us! October 24^th marks ABA Giving Day 2024, and it is not too soon to donate now! This fundraising event allows donors, volunteers, and the public to support ABA programs including CILA.

Why should you support CILA? To help us impact children’s immigration work by doing more of what we do best! So far in 2024, CILA has already:

• Provided individualized responses to more than 640 requests for technical assistance from legal and social services advocates serving unaccompanied children across the country
• Offered trainings with total attendance at over 4,000
• Created or updated 70 written resources that speak to the nuances of serving children in their immigration proceedings

Our fundraising goal is a modest one, so help us reach it and raise $5,000.
