The Children’s Immigration Law Academy (CILA) is grateful to announce the release of a new guide, Considerations for Working With Unaccompanied Youth in Crisis Situations.
CILA created this resource to provide an overview of crisis response and planning when working with unaccompanied youth, including considerations in assessing, identifying, and intervening in a crisis. This resource also dives into the importance of collaboration when working with unaccompanied youth and provides guidance for internal collaboration between legal and social services teams, as well as between legal services organizations and external partners. The manual incorporates feedback obtained from legal service providers who generously shared their experience and advice for creating crisis response protocols.
CILA hopes this guide equips and empowers advocates with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed for an overview of crisis assessment and interventions with unaccompanied children, and serve as a starting point for teams conversations around crisis response planning in their organizations
Thank you for all you do for unaccompanied children!
