CILA is proud to announce the release of an updated version of our Working With Unaccompanied Children: Mental and Behavioral Health Toolkit. This resource was the first written resource created by CILA’s social work program. We are excited to share now this refreshed and improved edition. In this new version, we’ve built on the foundation of essential mental and behavioral health knowledge by adding more in-depth guidance, sample language, and relatable scenarios to help navigate common challenges in trauma-informed and youth-centered ways.
Key topics in the updated edition include:
- Approaches to building resilience
- Mental Health and Trauma
- Helping youth build a strong support system
- Safeguarding Against Burnout and Vicarious Trauma
This update reflects our continued commitment to supporting the holistic well-being of unaccompanied children and youth, while also caring for all you who stand beside them.
We hope you find this resource even more helpful in your work. As always, your input is welcome, if there are tools or topics you'd like to see in future versions, we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to reach out at cila@abacila.org.
