CILA is excited to share a big update that we made to our website! We launched a new and free membership system () which allows advocates to access more of CILA’s written resources and to view a dashboard with information from CILA! Resources that you would typically find on CILA’s Additional Resources webpage have been moved, so they are now accessible when you create a membership.
Like all new things, it will take some getting used to. For this purpose, we have kept our Additional Resources page up for a temporary period. We will take it down in early December, so we encourage you to sign up today to keep access to CILA’s resources. Soon these resources will only be accessible by joining as a CILA member.
CILA’s four membership options are:
GREEN membership is for:
- Staff (attorneys, legal staff, and social services staff) at legal services organizations
- Private and pro bono attorneys working with immigrant children and youth
This membership option will give you access to resources, handouts, practice advisories, and checklists on topics such as working with unaccompanied children, asylum, SIJS, removal proceedings, appellate and litigation strategies, and ethics.
MAGENTA membership is for:
- Texas attorneys at legal services organizations
- Texas pro bono attorneys and private bar attorneys working with immigrant children and youth
This membership option will give you access to additional CILA resources plus access to CILA's template bank with materials for Texas practitioners seeking SIJS determinations in Texas state courts.
Prior to moving to this membership model, these resources were accessible only by those who obtained an advocate login. For this membership, in order to ensure appropriate use of the template bank, practitioners will be required to certify that they have watched our training video, “SIJS in Texas 101.” They also must review and agree to the Use of Templates Pledge
PINK membership is for:
- Pro Bono Matters for Children Facing Deportation platform cohort members: staff at legal services organizations that currently post case cards on CILA's platform in order to secure pro bono assistance in children’s cases
Please note: You should only select this membership if you are currently a cohort member and are one of the current contacts at your organization to work with CILA in relation to the platform. If not, but your organization is interested in utilizing the platform, please reach out to us at probono@abacila.org.
This membership option will give you access to CILA’s additional resources plus information to support you while you use CILA’s pro bono platform.
PURPLE membership is for:
- If you are an attorney at a Texas legal services organization and a cohort member of CILA's Pro Bono Matters for Children Facing Deportation platform
Please note: You should only select this membership if you are currently a cohort member and are one of the current contacts at your organization to work with CILA in relation to the platform. If not, but your organization is interested in utilizing the platform, please reach out to us at probono@abacila.org.
This membership option will give you access to CILA's additional resources, CILA's template bank with materials for Texas attorneys seeking SIJS determinations in Texas state courts, and our resources supporting members of CILA’s Pro Bono Matters for Children Facing Deportation platform cohort.
