The Children’s Immigration Law Academy (CILA) is a project of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Commission on Immigration. October 28 marks the ABA’s annual ABA Giving Day, a fundraising event, where the ABA invites donors, volunteers, and the public to support ABA programs including CILA. The day’s theme Community First provides an opportunity to give to help communities remain resilient through free legal services and innovative justice solutions. Online gifts can be made on the ABA Giving Day website starting October 11!
CILA along with 15 other ABA programs and entities are being featured for ABA Giving Day. At CILA, we believe that no child should have to face an immigration judge without an attorney, and no attorney or advocate who offers to help a child should be left without the tools and support they need. CILA works to support attorneys and advocates across Texas and beyond with expert resources, legal strategy assistance, opportunities for collaboration, and training to equip advocates with what they need to help a migrant child through their immigration process. It takes a community to defend the rights of migrant children. Learn more about CILA’s impact in CILA’s 2020 Annual Report and read testimonials about CILA.
We invite you to support CILA and invest in us, to protect and expand CILA’s innovative one-to-many model that creates an exponential impact on legal services for migrant children throughout Texas and the United States. Visit the ABA Giving Day website and contribute to CILA.
If you would like to help by giving your time, we invite you to view CILA’s platform Pro Bono Matters for Children Facing Deportation to find a child’s case in need of pro bono representation.
If you would like to support CILA during a different time, donate here.
Thank you for supporting CILA. Every gift helps!
