New CILA-NILA Recorded Training + Practice Advisory Available Now–

Challenging USCIS’ Denial of a Petition for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status Under the Administrative Procedure Act

CILA is pleased to announce that we have another recorded training available to those practitioners interested in federal litigation. This latest training takes another look at the Administrative Procedure Act (APA), this time to offer guidance on challenging denials by USCIS of petitions for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS).

In the 60-minute webinar, NILA’s Trina Realmuto and Mary Kenney cover the types of errors that can be challenged, the basic requirements for such an APA suit, and the relief that a federal court can grant. The webinar is accompanied by a practice advisory, and you can find both the training and practice advisory here. These materials complement a previously-recorded CILA-NILA webinar on mandamus and APA actions to challenge USCIS delays in adjudication of petitions for SIJS, also available here.

The webinar has been approved for 1.0 participatory hour of CLE credit by the State Bar of Texas. Check it out and use the CLE survey to get the course number for CLE credit or request a letter of attendance. As always, we welcome your thoughts, so fill out the feedback survey to let us know what you thought and to suggest other training topics you would like to see covered.
