Last month, CILA worked with the American Bar Association (ABA) Commission on Immigration (COI) and our COI sister projects, South Texas Pro Bono Asylum Representation Project (ProBAR) and the Immigration Justice Project (IJP) to host a free two day continuing legal education (CLE) training geared toward asylum law for pro bono attorneys across the country. The training entitled Defend Asylum Together! Essentials of Immigration Law for Effective Representation is now available to view online if you could not join us in January.
The training leverages on-the-ground experts from inside and outside the ABA to train new or beginner pro bono attorneys in removal defense, with a focus on asylum, for detained adults and unaccompanied children. The CLE is available to ABA members and non-members. If you are not an ABA member, simply create an account to register; the training will be free either way.
